Para definir las características hidrogeológicas del área de estudio, se obtuvo la información de pozos que se encuentran registrados en la base de datos de SENARA (2014) y Empresa de Servicios Públicos de Heredia (ESPH, 2018). Dentro del área de estudio la base de datos de SENARA, indica la presencia de 64 pozos los cuales cuentan con información, necesaria para la elaboración del modelo hidrogeológico conceptual así como del cálculo de la vulnerabilidad GOD. Es importante destacar que en el área de estudio según las distintas fuentes consultadas (Municipalidad, visitas al área de estudio, base de datos de SENARA), no se localizaron manantiales. La cantidad de pozos con información, así como su distribución especial tanto dentro como en los alrededores del área de estudio, es buena, siendo los sectores norte y este los que presentan una menor densidad, considerándola suficiente si tomamos en cuenta la información de pozos ubicados en los alrededores del área de interés.
